I am a writer at Access Easy English. I have my Bachelors’ degree in linguistics, and have worked in classrooms supporting CALD students and students with disability. I work from Brisbane on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

I work as a Specialist Content Writer, from Tuesday to Thursday. I have tertiary qualifications in disability along with secondary and vocational education. I also have over 20 years of experience in disability sector. I enjoy making information accessible to everyone. I like travelling when I have time.

Jodie van de Wetering
I am based in Rockhampton on Darrumbal Country. I started their career as a journalist and broadcaster before moving into corporate communications. While working with one of the country’s largest NDIS LAC Partners in the Community. I did one of our first Zoom-based Easy English writing courses in 2020, which sparked a passion for accessible communication which eventually led to them joining the Access Easy English team. I am neurodivergent and has loved ones and friends who aren’t native English speakers or who have a disability. That means they know firsthand how important it is for everyone to be able to access the information they need, in a format they can use.

I am the Administration Assistant, working 3 days per week. With extensive experience in administration, my responsibilities include supporting the Founder and CEO, Cathy Basterfield and her team with the day-to-day operations of the office. My interests include providing access and opportunities to under-represented people and communities.
